2nd year students must perform experimental lab work (usually in a 6-8 months internship project yielding publication-quality research) in order to be able to write a dissertation on its results and defend the dissertation in the final exam.
Internship can be carried out in any lab in the Department of Biology (“internal internship”) or in outside research instutions including private Companies (“external internship”) in Italy or abroad.
Students wishing to carry out an internal internship should seek preliminary approval by the Coordinator of the School (Prof. Battistoni) and compile the following form to be send to Dr Paola Blasi (paola.blasi@uniroma2.it) and to the coordinator Form internship within University.

Students wishing to carry out an external internship MUST seek preliminary approval by the Coordinator of the School (Prof. Battistoni) and activate a formal request using these forms:
- Partner Agreement (“Convenzione tra gli enti”). The student must inform the Coordinator of the place where he intends to carry out the internship. Subsequently, assisted by the external tutor and the secretariat of the host institution, it will be necessary to digitally fill in the word form of the agreement.
Before signing, the word format document must be sent by email to Dr. Paola Blasi (paola.blasi@uniroma2.it)
The document, subsequently formalized on the Delphi system in PDF format with a protocol number (NOT MODIFIABLE), will be sent for the signatures of the Legal Representative of the host institution and to the Director of the Department of Biology. - Training Project (“Progetto Formativo”) After contacting the company, the student must digitally fill in all the parts highlighted in yellow the Training Project in WORD format, assisted by the internal Tutor and the external Tutor, and for information to the Course Coordinator.
Before signing, the student must send the document via email to Dr. Paola Blasi (paola.blasi@uniroma2.it)
The document, subsequently formalized on the Delphi system in PDF format with a protocol number (NOT MODIFIABLE), will be sent for signature to the student, to the Legal Representative of the host institution, and in the latest edition by the Director of the Department of Biology. - Internship End Certificate Form (Attestato di fine tirocinio): the company will have to fill in and send the certificate, as indicated in the form. Upon receipt of the same, the student will be credited with the educational credits provided for by the academic system. The certificate must be received before the student has discussed the degree thesis.
Internship abroad: obtaining approval from the Program Coordinator and contacting the company/institution/foreign university to confirm the possibility of undertaking an internship abroad, the student, assisted by both the internal and external tutors, must complete the Learning Agreement -Student in Traineeship form online
